Caribbean scientist, Dr. Carlton Newton was a revered scientist of the UNI.T.E federation. That was until he was caught working on side projects for The F.I.S.T by Dr. Stein. He then fired as a result of his treason. He vowed revenge against Dr. Stein and scientific team that had shunned him. Afterwards, he fully defected over to the F.I.S.T. At the request of his new superior, Omega Saviour, Dr. Newton was to perfect the new metal, that he had created with Dr. Stein and the UNI.T.E science team. Made from volcanic rock, this metal was coined by Dr. Newton as magmanium. Perfecting the metal was a success. But success always comes with a price. While further developing the metal, an explosion was triggered, causing traces of the metal to enter Newton’s bloodstream.  The excitement of the explosion caused Dr. Newton to mutate into a 7 foot living volcano.  Once, Omega Saviour caught wind of Newton’s new found powers, he had F.I.S.T. scientists develop a suit that would help Dr. Newton control his transformations. Coined as Magmarock by his superior, Dr. Newton vowed to use his power against Dr. Stein and UNI.T.E for humiliating him.
